Student comments about class

English 306 students:

During this course, your comments about the instruction and organization of this course are welcome, particularly if you have ideas on how I can make my teaching more effective.  E-mail me at mbuckhoff@aol.com to let me know.

Respectfully,

Michael

Dear Professor/Mr. Buckoff,
My name is Teresa and I am a form student of English 311 and 306. I Just wanted to write to tell you Thank You for being such a great teacher. I have taken several English classes throughout my college days but your English 306 has given me more confidence in my writing ability than any class I have ever taken. Your willingness to want to help, either in person or with one of your websites that has just a wealth of information, has allowed me to become a better writer. I know that I still have to work at my writing, but your class has made things a little easier and understandable.
From the bottom of my heart, I Thank You!!! Continue to do what you do. Although it may be hard for students at times, those that hang on to the knowledge that you pass on will appreciate the information and greatly appreciate the messenger of the information (YOU) as I do.
May God Continuously Bless You,
Teresa Edwards

Michael:

During a lifetime a man acquires a wealth of knowledge, usually at great expense. Michael, you have shown that with proper guidance and effort even an old dog can learn new tricks. Even an old dog can be turned into a highly effective and competent writer. As I am now over 50 years old and very desirous of learning as effectively, painlessly and completely as possible I greatly appreciate the efforts you put forth and the web site you operate will be a guiding light throughout my writing career. I will constantly call upon your website for guidance and with gratitude I will avail myself of your wisdom.

Sincerely and gratefully:

Jimmy

Dear Michael,

Thanks for your excellent teaching this session. It has been great to go over structural and grammatical nuances again. I am not sure that I will ever quite "arrive" at a true level of mastery of verbal expression, but you do help a lot in pointing toward the right direction.

Sincere regards,

Steven

Dear Michael,

I wanted to write you a note to tell you how much I enjoyed your class.  I
learned a great deal and polished some old techniques.  I thought the
structure of your class was very informative and the skills you covered were
practical.  Your course was full of details which all applied to becoming a
better writer.  Thank you very much!

Kathy

Michael:

Thank you for all of your help during the course of the English 306 Winter course.  I greatly appreciate the help, and I now feel that I can better come up with a thesis statement for my essay writing.

Michael:

Just a small note of thanks for a great quarter.  I enjoyed both English 306 and English 311 classes.  You made both subjects enjoyable.  I have learned great things this quarter, which will help me in my future as a teacher.

Warm regards,

Kim

Professor Buckhoff,

Please accept my gratitude for the great job you did with this class (ENG 306).  I learned quite a bit and
feel more confident with my writing ability (especially the creativity part). Thanks again.

David

Hi sir,

Also, I would like to thank you again for your outstretched patience and valuable teachings rendered towards me and the others.  I must say that you have greatly encouraged me with your hard effort and understanding, as well as your professionalism.  I have learned a lot from you.  You actually brought back the interest I once had in writing, and I'm very thankful for that.  Although I still have plenty of issues going on concerning my writing, I'm pretty confident that in the near future I would engage in some serious writing--writing a book perhaps, either here or in my country.  That's how much encouragement you have given me!
