Language Lab Fall Quarter

Level Three
Classroom: EE101
Texts
Required:
Judith Tanka and Lida R. Baker. Interactions II: A Listening/Speaking
Skills Book.
Goals
I want to improve your listening comprehension by helping you learn how to
listen. You will be listening to recordings of native speakers and in turn, you
will have an opportunity to participate in various listening and speaking
activities. We will have three types of speaking activities in our class in
order to help you improve your speaking skills: very informal real-life
conversations, informal discussions similar to an experience in a university
class, and oral presentations. We will also have some TOEFL practice in this
class.
Requirements
Participation, participation, and more participation! You must be an active
learner in my class. Each student will be given a pass/fail grade based on class
participation, attendance, oral presentations, completion of assignments, and
quizzes (if any). Please come to class on time every day.
