Michael Buckhoff, 41, Hesperia,
CA: "Winning the national championship is the single
greatest running moment that I have ever experienced!"

David Olds, 46, Los Angeles, CA: "For
the past four years I have imagined having a Bunny team take the title at
nationals. Thank you all for making that pipe dream a reality."

Robert Arsenault, 42, Riverside,
CA: " We kicked ass, we drank beer, we evaded the police and
we lived to tell about it. You are all lean, mean, and fluffy. We ripped
the heart out of the competition with our bunny fangs and pooped it out in
little pellet pooh."

Dan Arsenault, 45, Santa Ana, CA: "I
was so focused on catching Rob that I hadn't realized that we had moved up
into the top 10% in the process. I knew that I was had when I put on
a surge in the last mile, looked up and saw that Rob had a bounce in his
stride and was moving past other runners. We passed a half dozen or
so in the last mile. Little did I realize that the bunnies 5/6/7
runners were mowing down the 1/2 runners from several other clubs in the
last mile."

Kevin Vidana-Barda, 40, Victorville,
CA: "The race was a total blast even though i did not run
well all year. We won nationals i believe as a result of the strong
performances by Jeff and Michael (who has worked his ass off the last 6
months doing 80+ mile weeks)."

Jeff Ambos, 46, Redlands, CA: "Thank
you (Pete and David) so much for inviting the rest of us along for the
ride."

Peter Magill, 46, South
Pasadena: "I think the best moment I've had as a
masters runner was right after I'd crossed the finish line, and I glanced
back at the runners coming up the final stretch ... and good grief, there
was Jeff Ambos outsprinting American masters record-holder in the 10,000
(30:05) Paul Aufdemberge of Front Line to the finish line!! I tried to
scream encouragement, but of course only a whisper came out, seeing as how
my throat was thrashed from breathing all that cold air. But Jeff didn't
need the encouragement, because he beat Paul to the line anyway. And Jeff
and I are majorly excited, and we're just starting to share a very (manly
and non-homosexual) hug in the finish chute, when what the hell?!!! ...
there's Michael Buckhoff sprinting to the line! And I'm thinking, "I
knew Michael was ready for a great race, but this great? - WOW!" And
right as I'm preparing to congratulate Michael, there's Olds! And I'm
telling you, I was thinking that if Olds was our 4th man, we were REALLY
in good shape!! And before I can even start to mull that over, there's
Rob! And crap, in my wildest expectations back in June I'd thought Rob
could maybe run a race like that ... but to see him doing it - as I said
before ... WOW. And then, before I can even process that, there's Dan! And
no, that can't be ... yep, right behind him is Kevin!"
